Deer

The mosaic sculpture of Dusciana Bravura meets the technical perfection of the Greek-Alexandrian mosaic type, together with the magnificence of the Greek-Byzantine mosaic of the carpet. Noteworthy is her well thought ability expressed in the surface of the animal's body, which contrasts strongly with the bright surface of the pillow on which it rests. The palanquin, along with the crown and the treasury held by the front legs of the deer, take us far into the fantastic world of oriental fairy tales, fables that have certainly affected the imagination of the young artist.
